...SHORT TERM...(Today through Friday night),

...Bottom line up front: Temperature rollercoaster this week into next
week. [ ^ ax ] slight chance of rain late Friday in SE Kanzaz.

...[ ^ ax ] large shortwave continues to spin over the Great Lakes region, with
NW flow dominating the weather pattern over the plains. With NW flow
in control, expect dry conditions and seasonal temperatures in the
40s, with some down slope influences.

...Weak ridging looks to build across the plains for the end of the
week, which will lead to [ ^ ax ] warming trend for Fri., with temperatures
rebounding into the 50s. Both the E C M W F and G F S models show [ ^ ax ] quick
hitting shortwave will move east across Kanzaz late Fri. or early Sat..

Moisture is very limited with this system, as most of the moisture
advection/transport is over SW and western Missouri. However...moisture return
may be enough for [ ^ ax ] small chance of light rain over SE Kanzaz, so we'll
keep [ ^ ax ] slight percentage of precipitation in the forecast for this chance.

...LONG TERM...(Saturday through Tuesday),

...Both the E C M W F and G F S models suggest [ ^ ax ] cold front will move south across
the area. As this shortwave moves east early on Sat., This will
lead to [ ^ ax ] cool down back to seasonal normals for Sat. and Sat. night.

...The weekend cool down looks to be short lived, as medium range models
show temperatures climbing back to well above normal for the beginning of next
week, with continued dry conditions throughout the period.
